Is Your Disposal Worth Fixing or Time to Replace?
This is the question I get asked most. And the honest answer is: it depends on what's actually wrong with it. A lot of disposals that seem dead just need a reset or a new switch. That's a five-minute fix. I'm not going to sell you a new unit if yours has years left in it.
Where replacement makes sense is when the grinding plate is worn out, the motor is shot, or it's leaking from the body itself. Those aren't worth repairing. A new disposal runs $150 to $400 installed depending on the unit, and I'll tell you upfront what you're looking at before I do anything.

I install and replace all standard garbage disposals — continuous feed, batch feed, single-stage and multi-stage grind. InSinkErator, Moen, Waste King, whatever you've got or whatever you want to go with. I can grab a unit or you can supply one. Either way works.
Most installs take under an hour. I connect the disposal to the drain, check the dishwasher knockout if needed, wire it properly, and test it before I leave. No leaks, no loose fittings.
Disposal work also tends to surface other issues — slow kitchen drains, leaking sink strainers, worn-out P-traps. I'll point out anything I see. If you want it handled the same day, I can usually do that.
If your kitchen drain is slow or backing up, that's a separate issue worth looking at. I do drain cleaning and kitchen plumbing work too.
